Quilted Christmas Stocking

Christmas stockings are always a pleasure to make for loved ones and also to decorate your home. For this simple stocking, you can choose from mini charm squares (2 1/2 x 2 1/2), a 5-inch charm pack (cut into quarters), or search your stash of Christmas fabrics.  In the first class, you will be sewing the patchwork front, then making a quilt sandwich (lining, batting, and top), and then quilting. In the second class, you will be assembling your stocking and attaching the hanging loop.

Please note, class starts at 9:30 am

Supply List:

44 - 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 squares of fabric. SQUARES MUST BE CUT BEFORE CLASS: 2 mini charm packs, 1 5-inch charm pack cut into 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 squares, or use fabrics from your stash.

Lining Fabric: 2 - 15 1/2 x 21 or 2 Fat Quarters

Back of Stocking: 1 - 15 1/2 x 21 or 1 Fat Quarter

Batting, Light Weight  2 - 15 1/2 x 21

Binding: 1 3/4 x 90  MUST BE CUT ON THE BIAS.  Needed for the second class, Robin will discuss how to cut in the first class.

Walking Foot

1/4 inch foot

Edge Stitch Foot, not required

Curved Basting Pins  (We cannot use basting spray inside)

Wonder Clips or equivalent.

Craft Iron and Pressing Mat

Sewline Fabric Glue Pen or equivalent (MUST HAVE).  Sewline is refillable.

Frixion Pen or fabric marker

Scotch Tape

Sewing Scissors & Utility Scissors (to cut paper)

Mini E6000 Glue or any permanent glue that dries clear, and sets fast.  Need for the second class.

Button for the hanging loop.

Your usual sewing supplies:  Machine in working order, 2 full bobbins, extra machine needles, rotary cutter, rotary ruler, walking foot, 1/4 inch foot, glasses, pencil, paper, and ANYTHING else you think you might need.
