Crimson Poppy
The Crimson Poppy is one of Judy Niemeyer’s newest patterns that can be made with so many different color combinations, and all are so beautiful. This pattern uses a curve piecing technique that expands on the traditional foundation paper piecing approach to complete some of the units. In the first session you will guided through the fabric and color selection process and attention will be given to understanding the pattern instructions. Although this pattern is very complicated looking, it is quite easy to assemble and this current pattern design does not have any “Y” seams. There is a pre-class session (no sewing) for organization and color guidance, plus (5) sewing sessions.

Skill Level: This class is for the intermediate level of paper piecing.
Class Prerequisite: Beginning Paper Piecing class, or Seasonal Table Runner class, or a very “strong” knowledge of paper piecing
Number of class sessions: (1) Pre -class session plus (6) sewing sessions
Pre-class will be April 2, 2025

Carl will assist with selecting fabrics and the yardage needed in the Pre-Class
Cutting Board (small or medium size)
Rotary Cutter 45mm or 60mm recommended (new blade is strongly recommended)
Seam ripper
Small Iron (optional as two can share)
Ironing Board (small pad)or - there is one in the store we can share also
Add-a-Quarter Plus Ruler (12" recommended but 6" is optional)
Flower Pins (optional)
Small glass pins (optional)
Purple Thang (optional ...seam ripper will work)
Size 14 needles (size 12 is optional)
Good high-quality cotton sewing thread (50wt. recommended but 40wt. will work)
Sewing Machine with straight foot and 1/4" foot, power cord
