Supplies for the rope bowls:
?Sewing Machine with a zigzag stitch
?Thread preferably 50 weight if you are going to wrap your rope bring a coordinating thread if not you will need a
cream thread or a variegated thread makes a beautiful basic bowl
?Scissors
? Corsage Pins
?Fabric or Craft Glue Stick- the School Glue Sticks will not work
?Clips
?Seam Ripper (basic supplies)
?Multiple wound bobbins
?Size 16+ needles Denim
?Fabric to cover rope, minimum 1/2yd, cut into 1" strips do not join together , Thread
?Rope/Cord, 10 yd for a small bowl, or 20 for the larger bowl as per the image.
Yvonne does have some rope but you can also purchase rope online at Mountain Thread Company or Knot and Rope
Company. You want cotton braided rope. You can get a cotton rope from Walmart but it has a polyester filler so cannot
be put in the microwave. You can also use paracord but it is polyester and will not make as strong a bowl as cotton.
You do not want twisted rope as you cannot wrap the rope around it and doesn’t make as nice a bowl as cotton braided
rope.
