My First Quilt Project, a Beginner's Class

Are you a beginning quilter? Looking to improve your skills? Then this class is for you! By the end of our six sessions, you will have learned the basic skills of contemporary quiltmaking: fabric selection and care, rotary cutting, accurate piecing, piecing your back and sandwiching the quilt, quilting with a walking foot, and binding. The class project consists of a finished quilt measuring 73 x 73 and a table runner. See the sample in the shop.
Our first class is on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
This class will cover tools, fabric requirements, and any questions you might have.
Bring your sewing machine, a full bobbin, thread, rotary cutter, and ruler if you have them. We will be establishing your 1/4-inch seam and how to use the rotary cutter and ruler in the first class; if you have a 1/4-inch foot, please bring it with you.
You must know how to use your machine, including how to change the foot and stitch length. If you haven't used your machine in a few years, consider having it serviced before class.
Please bring a notepad and a writing implement.
