Beginning Paper Piecing

Have you ever wanted to learn the art of “Paper Piecing” to make quilts that are full of sharp points and stars, plus flying geese and circles that are the favorites at quilt shows? Students will be taught how to overcome the challenges of paper piecing. This 4-hour class is designed for a beginner to learn the basics of paper piecing. The patterns for this class are the “New York Beauty” and “Flying Geese”, both done on a curve. The sample patterns and all fabric material is supplied. Note: Class room has cutting table, 2 irons and 2 ironing boards.
Cutting Board (small or medium size)
Rotary Cutter 45mm or 60mm recommended (new blade is strongly recommended)
Seam ripper
Small Iron (optional as two can share)
Ironing Board (small pad)or - there is one in the store we can share also
Add-a-Quarter Plus Ruler (12" recommended but 6" is optional)
Flower Pins (optional)
Small glass pins (optional)
Purple Thang (optional ...seam ripper will work)
Size 14 needles (size 12 is optional)
Good high-quality cotton sewing thread (50wt. recommended but 40wt. will work)
-if possible bring red or green thread (I have thread to lend if you do not have)
Sewing Machine with straight foot and 1/4" foot, power cord
